Forthcoming Rides: May

  • Sunday 4th
    • Spr-Sum R09 – A mostly rolling ride, we start by heading out to Chalford before climbing up Hyde Hill. After that we pass through Frampton Mansell and Sapperton, then head south, skirting Kemble via Ewen and Oaksey. Looping down through Malmesbury and Sherston we pass Westonbirt to our west before we head through Tetbury and then up to Minch, then home.
      49 miles total with 4100 feet of climbing (80km/1250m).
      Coffee stop will be at Jackdaws, Malmesbury
    • Leisure R02Leisure riders will be heading out through Stonehouse again, but then North through Standish and Haresfield towards Brookthorpe. Naas Lane takes the route through the outskirts of Gloucester (Hardwicke) before getting back out into the countryside of the Severn Vale. Through Longney, Epney and Saul, then Frampton, Whitminster and home.
      30 miles total with 900 feet of climbing (50km/275m)
  • Sunday 18th
    • Spr-Sum R01B – It’s straight up Rodborough to start with, but then things ease off along the top through Amberley and Minch. We pass through Avening before heading south past Tetbury, then we cut east to the Water Park via Crudwell and Minety. We head north again via Ampney Crucis, then join the Welsh Way to take us to the Duntisbournes and then on to Miserden. Left after the Polo Pub (Fostons Ash) takes us down Slad and back to Stroud.
      52 miles total with 2700 feet of climbing (85k/820m).
      Coffee stop will be at Lake 12, at the Water Park.

  • Sunday 25th
    • Spr-Sum R02A – Starting with the climb from Archway School up Randwick we top out heading through Edge, before taking the little Sevenleaze Lane through to Painswick Beacon. Take care on the descent of Upton Hill, then we’re onto the flat through Matson, Brookthorpe, and Naas Lane through Hardwicke. An anticlockwise half-lap of the TT from Elmore to Longney then we swing through Epney and Frampton before crossing back over the A38 and M5 at Eastington. We stay low through Coaley to Cam and Dursley, then it’s one last major climb out of Uley, up Crawley Hill then it’s across the top and down Selsley and home
      50 miles total with 2800 feet of climbing (80k/850m).
      Coffee stop will be at The Stables in Saul.
